Alappuzha and Munnar
Both are within reach of Kochi, so it is a natural base for a longer Kerala trip.
Suggested plan
- Day 1: Drive from Tirunelveli, reach Kochi by afternoon and walk Fort Kochi in the evening.
- Day 2: Mattancherry, the museum and the waterfront, then return or continue to Alappuzha.
- Add a third day for the backwaters or the hills.
Good to know before you go
- Inter-state travel to Kerala needs a permit, which carries extra charges. Toll and parking are extra.
- City traffic in Kochi is heavy at peak hours, so allow extra time for the last stretch.
- Fort Kochi streets are narrow, and parking is limited. Walking is the best way to see it.
